Choosing a gauge

Wider bore moves thicker gel. 22G — widest, for the firmest gels (this one). 25G is the general-purpose facial size. 27G is the finest, for delicate areas. All three are 50mm and all three are priced the same.

A blunt cannula cannot pierce skin. Make the entry with a sharp needle one gauge wider — typically a 21G MicroLance for a 22G cannula.
